Filter coffee, minus the 5 am.

Real decoction, already brewed and filtered. Tear the pouch, pour it into your tumbler, add hot milk. The kaapi you grew up on, without standing guard over the filter.

no filter to wash ✺ no powder on the counter ✺ no twenty-minute drip ✺ just kaapi ✺ ಕಾಫಿ ✺
The ritual, before and after

We kept the tumbler. We skipped the wait.

The old way
5:40Rinse yesterday's grounds out of the filter.
5:45Pack the powder, press it down with the umbrella disc.
5:48Pour boiling water. Put the lid on. Wait.
6:02Still dripping. Check again. Still dripping.
6:08Finally, decoction. Now boil the milk.
The CoGo way
6:08Tear the pouch.
6:08Pour into the tumbler. Add hot milk and sugar, if that's your house rule.
6:09Do the pull between tumbler and dabara, for the froth and for the show.
You just got a whole half hour back. Spend it on the second cup.

Today's menu

ಇಂದಿನ ಮೆನು
  1. Sourced01

Hand-picked cherries from Ethiopia and Colombia, bought directly from farmers at fair wages.

  2. Roasted02

Small batches, so every roast gets watched like milk on the stove.

  3. Filtered03

Our liquid filtration takes out the sediment and oils. No sludge at the bottom of the tumbler.

  4. Sealed04

Nitrogen-flushed into eco-friendly pouches, so the aroma is still there when you tear it open.

6 am, somewhere in Malleshwaram

The sound of a Bangalore morning

5:58The milk packet thuds onto the doorstep.
6:04Suprabhatam drifts over from the neighbour's radio.
6:11The pressure cooker lets out its first whistle.
6:12Steel tumbler meets steel dabara. Clink.

We can't pack any of that into a pouch. We just made sure the kaapi is never the thing you're waiting on.

Tumbler Talk · the CoGo community

Pull up a stool. Pour a second cup.

The best conversations happen over the second tumbler, when nobody's in a hurry to leave. This is where ours happen: ratios, recipes, taste tests, and the great chicory debate.
